Jenifer Dapper

I am an American born fine artist living and working near London, UK. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Art History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MA in the History of Art and Architecture from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London. The first part of my career was spent in gallery and museum work, as well as lecturing at the university level. After moving back to the London area in 2012, I began painting full-time. I sell my work primarily through private commissions and online at Art-Finder.com, Saatchiart.com, Artupia and Etsy.

I am primarily a figurative artist but also drawn to subjects of a fleeting or kinetic nature. Inspiration for my work usually stems from special moments, memories, or current events found in literature, mythology, nature, and popular culture.

More recently, my work explores the architecture of forms. By examining the areas that exist within subjects, I concentrate on the relationship of the positive and negative areas - exploring juxtaposing shapes, lines and colours. By minimising fine details, simplifying forms and using abstracted colour, unique patterns emerge and the framework of form is revealed.
